Want Fries or Wireless With That?
Source: Wired.com
Thank you for the information JTMoney
NEW YORK -- Would you like super-sized Internet access with that burger and fries?
In a further sign of the spread of wireless Internet technology, McDonald's restaurants in three U.S. cities will offer one hour of free wireless high-speed access to anyone who buys a combination meal. Ten McDonald's in Manhattan will begin offering WiFi, or 802.11b, Internet access on Wednesday, McDonald's spokeswoman Lisa Howard said.

Hmm, well it looks ok, but you have to have it on a hard surface. I bought the Dell foldable keyboard. it is great and it is ridged so you can use it on your lap. This looks like it would be the same size as the dell keayboard rolled up.

This is interesting, I didn't think McDonald's wanted people to hang around for an hour, after all their business is 'fast' food and high turn-over.
Aren't they worried the effects of the food may strike the people where they are, rather then when they're out in the streets.
Still, an hour free, even I'd hang around MikeyD's

I guess you could always go sit in your car, or outside if the weather was warm. 300m range on WiFi.

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere in and around Mickey D's. Hell, think about it, if people are there for extended periods of time, their "addictive" food might make people spend more of their hard-earned money on more of Mickey D's tasty, but bad-for-you foods!

The fries are good, but I think the burgers are better at BK or Wendy's. Steak and Shake has the best, though!

I don't think it was lame...makes sense to me. I would do something similar if the marketing decision was up to me, for sure. It's all about the carrot and the stick.
