The Wi-Fi Alliance today announced that you can now use your Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled cell phone or other device to find over 6,000 Wi-Fi ZONE locations.
This is a very easy application to use, yet a very powerful way to locate a Wi-Fi ZONE when you need one. Users set up a bookmark on their WAP-enabled device that points to the Wi-Fi ZONE WAP URL (
http://wap.wi-fizone.org). Selecting this bookmark will take the users through menus for country, state and then to a list of Wi-Fi ZONE locations in the city selected. Once the users are online at a Wi-Fi ZONE Web site, they can even download the list of locations in the city they are visiting. Both of these tools are something that travel agents and corporate travel managers may find useful to share with the people that they support.
