Smith Micro plans data kits for Thuraya satellite phones
ALISO VIEJO, Calif.—Smith Micro Software Inc.’s wireless and broadband division will build data connectivity accessory kits that will include a suite of Smith Micro QuickLink software applications and a data cable, for Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Co.’s GSM/GPS satellite phones.
QuickLink Mobile allows users to access e-mail, the Internet and corporate intranets, and to upload and download files. QuickLink Mobile’s companion products—QuickLink Mobile for Pocket PC, QuickLink Mobile Phonebook and QuickLink Fax—as well as a means for consumers to download GPS software for use with Thuraya satellite phones, will also be included in the Thuraya accessory kit.
