If you thought Linksys' WSB24 Wireless Signal Booster was too good to be true, it looks like you may be right...at least for now.
In response to questions about this week's disappearance of the popular WLAN range-enhancing product from Linksys' website and major on-line retailers, we went right to the source and asked Linksys. A spokesperson quickly responded with the following:
In regards to the WSB24, we are working to help mitigate the concerns the FCC has about our signal booster being inadvertently used with other companies AP's or routers. The Signal Booster did get FCC approval for use only with Linksys products. We have chosen to temporarily stop marketing the unit and have asked our partners support while we work with the FCC to come up with a solution that addresses their concerns.
