Lost partnerships
I have activesync 4.2 and an Axim v51v with latest bios and ppc 2003
i have established a partnership with my latptop to sync Outlook .. and it has been working fine for a month or two .. (actaully, i am not that happy wtih the Axim .. seems buggy) ... anyway .. two days ago it would nt sync and wanted to establish a new partnerhsip .. recognize there was one already establised .. i would have to give a new name, remove all data fomr the old one and re-sync ... i have been through this process several times in teh past .. and it is extremly annoying ... especailly as i have a bunch of contactes and it takes about 20 mint to re-sync the whole thing. I am not trying to connect to an exchange server .. my laptop does that .. then i sync wtih teh laptop ...
i suspect this may be an activesync thing ... but am not sure ... would apprecaite any help anyone can give ...

Hi Tom
You have x51v there is an upgrade to WM5 available. As well as a patch that fixes some wifi and driver issues. Have a look at the dell website or search this forum, I don't have direct access to my links at moment as post from Ax. There is also an update for AS to 4.5 at dell. ? Ididn't know that x51v was released with ppc2003se? If you update you should be able to set a new sync partnership and go from there. [mobile post]

Lost partnership
Thanks for the info ... I just looked at the information screen on my unit and see that I have Pocket PC version 5 already. I certainly could upgrade ActiveSync but I've been down this path before. This seems to be a recurring problem. I actually had a similar issue when I had my iPAQ. I was hoping that there might be some more specific explanation as to why the partnerships keep getting lost. I suppose it just could be random corruption. I just got a new unit a month or two ago after I dropped my original one. Certainly checking the dell website to make sure that I have the latest drivers is a good suggestion. Thank you

You should upgrade to ActiveSync 4.5, make sure you're running ROM A12 (X51v never shipped with 2003), and uncheck the advanced network functionality box in Start-Settings-Connections-USB to PC. The upgrades for AS and the ROM were released for very good reasons, it's best to stay current. Let us know how it works!
