I would like some software that does my calendar that is not part of Microsoft outlook-

Is there anyway to set apointments at the exact times? My only options are 7:00 or 7:30 not available is 7:05. for example

I am finding this lacking the simple features which I took for granted on the Palm 5 I had.

I want to get as far away from Outlook as I can, it is clunky and does not allow quick and easy use-any suggestion software ? Another example I thought that with the birthday information in the contact database that they would automatically appear (on the dates) or that you could turn on this feature, per record or for all.

    Thanks Laurenbe

Just click on the dropdown start/end time and change it from 7:00 to 7:05. It's just a combo box. You can also enter conflicting/appts, no big deal. I just did it on my Axim X30.

Thanks BOBO, I finally got the the time changed- (the imput was selected to the folding keyboard- one switched I was able to change the time.

I am still looking for another operating system to run it- I can't stand Microsoft Outlook- I do not use it for email too many holes... and using it to be able to see my calendar is really screwwy since having been a Palm 3 and Palm 5 customer I like their propriety type of software, It we more plug and go. The only reason I got this unit was because of the excel spread sheet ability.

Can Palm OS run with out major problems on the axim pocket pc?

You should try Pocket Informant. It is a great program.

    Thanks Axim x3i-

My husband works at Dell even did a test on the X3i, I have passed on some software suggestions- I used to write programs- I have considered getting back into it. Although I admit I am a bit rusty. Unfortunately they really do not get to play with the product just run the tests and make sure it passes as ordered.

I had not come across that name I will look it up. I have been playing with skins and tsk files. As a graphic designer I have some wonderful artwork that makes great skin backgrounds.

    Thanks

Have you looked at expod.net? They came out with a version of expod for the ppc, but I haven't tried it. I used their software for the casio be-300 and loved it. Not sure what all it has - it's free to try and I think reasonable. More of an overlay than another os - or at least it used to be.

Hey, lauren - tell your hubby to work on a better calculator for the axim. I have this tapecalc calculator I scavenged from some suite in the dim past and kept over the years. It's great! Shows like a tape calculator all the numbers you've entered. That would be a great program for a handheld - you can even save the tape and print it. I have no idea where I scavenged it from, but I would dearly like to find something like it for my ppc.
