The Phraselator (Voice Translator)
Source: Voxtec
Here it is. . .the first ruggedized PDA for the mobile, outdoor professional. With specs for performance over extended temperature ranges, operating in high RFI/EMI locations and with a full sunlight or full darkness readable display, the Pharselator can go where the action is. And while VoxTec speaker-independent, large vocabulary phrase recognition will work on any high end PDA, in a high noise environment or outside in the wind the Phraselator's noise-canceling microphone and separate background noise level microphone are needed to get recognition up to the level needed when the phrase library includes terms like 'Stop or I'll shoot". Also, in translation applications you must be heard- the Pharselator has about five times the power in its speaker output than most PDA's.
