From the President of WebIS:
Just wanted to let you know about FlexMail 2007 Rev 2 being released for Windows Mobile Smartphone and Pocket PCs! It brings full IMAP IDLE for push email to Windows Mobile, two way live synching of email over IMAP (i.e. changes you make on the client are made immediately on the server with IMAP), hot keys for performing actions on your email with a keyboard, full HTML email support, Mail Rules, Windows Mobile 6 support and more! This is a new FlexMail in more ways than ever before.
Enough about marketing though - I'd like to write to you about a legacy that FlexMail has had and give you an open and honest response. FlexMail has always been a leader in email features on Windows Mobile, but we always seemed to have just one major issue that defined a release. When we designed FlexMail we saw that people wanted FlexMail integrated into their systems - they did
not want the built in Messaging to show up. Pocket Informant was always successful in this, but we found that for FlexMail we had to go further. In testing this worked fine but in the real world it simply did not. For that I can only apologize. With Rev 2 we brought in a group of people who had torn FlexMail to pieces in reviews or discussion posts. We took all the user cases we found and ran through them. We redesigned many internal areas. Refined many areas. Over 5000 hours of development time went into Rev 2 to resolve the issues that caused some customers grief. I hope you enjoy what we've worked so hard on. And yes, we've tested uninstalls
For a really good reason about FlexMail's use on a Smartphone read Steve Hagerott's column about Windows Mobile 6 where he talks about FlexMail on the Smartphone and the unique situation he's in and how he uses the Rules feature to manage his email:
