From Alex at WebIS:
A few days ago we released a public beta of FlexMail 2007 on our forums. This release has had many months of very focused determined work on really making the best email client on any platform. We've had a lot of misses in the past on this but this time I think we got there. Part of the reason is we took some of our biggest critics and brought them in to our internal testing team. These guys hammered the software like a piece of steel being made into a sword. We got some very talented people on the Smartphone side as well that have allowed us to really polish the Smartphone side of the software very well.
Typically when we have done a public beta of FlexMail in the past we would have 500 messages within 2 days with bugs. I'l be honest. This time, our biggest issues seem to be some smartphones are not vibrarying/alerting on new mail (we think its a registry issue so easy fix), and a few other smartphone related minor UI issues. Its a very impressive release.
Some of the things that FlexMail 2007 Rev 2 brings to all users:
* Of course we've got the really intuitive Folder/Message UI
* And we've always had HTML email for all Windows Mobile 2003/5/6 users
* We've added full IMAP IDLE support for immediate notification of new mail even while sleeping
* An Auto-Reply Rules action for FlexMail's rules
* Easily send pictures on Windows Mobile 5
* CRAM-MD5 Connections/Login for IMAP
* Awesome new email notifications that really show you each new incoming email which you can read, delete, mark as read, flag - all from any application
* New message reading interface
* Much faster IMAP downloads of email
* Complete menu reorganization to really make using FlexMail much easier
* Account Templates like GMail
* Single Key shortcuts to delete, reply and much more
* And while normally we wouldn't be proud of this - a few hundred bug fixes and dramatically improved performance.
FlexMail 2007 Rev 2 is now up to the standard that Pocket Informant is known for throughout the Windows Mobile community. This is a public beta - while no known crashes exist, no known reliability issues exist - we really want your help in testing this software for final release. We've gotten a lot of positive feedback in the last two days; probably more than we've ever had before. So I'd like to make sure that we get all the cracks filled if any still exist. I say that with some trepidation because we all know software has cracks that sometimes only are found when we get enough people working on it.
Thanks and have a great weekend!
