"It's certainly software worth considering!"
"The first test I did was simply ensuring the software worked okay in a
nice quiet environment. The software was working very well in this
environment so i decided to throw some ambient noise into the mix. Add a
spot of tv and the Kettle boiling and I was sure to reduce the success
rate. Right ? Wrong! Even with all this noise I still got 40% accuracy." -

Novosibirsk, Russia, March 4 - One of the leading software manufacturers,
VITO Technology, has announced a release of the new version of its
VoiceDialer, a voice dialing application that helps Pocket PC users dial
their contacts faster and easier. It lets you pronounce a name to dial a
number instead of choosing it manually from the address book.
New version 3.6 can be installed on any PDA running Windows Mobile 2002 or
later. It supports both Phone Edition (Pocket PC Phones) and general Pocket
PCs that can be used for making calls when connected to a cell phone via
Bluetooth, serial or infrared port.
VITO VoiceDialer dials contacts from standard address book on Pocket PC. It
utilizes a sound processing engine, which is being enhanced for each new
release. It is important that the recognition algorithm is not limited to
English pronunciation and can handle commands in any language. In addition,
VoiceDialer features a very flexible mechanism of creating the commands:
the program integrates itself into the system, and voice tags can be
assigned directly from the Contacts.
New release is full of new features and options; most of them were
suggested to the company by the users. Firstly, beginning from this
release, tags can be backed up and restored with just a stylus tap. This
option is extremely useful when performing a hard reset or importing
settings to another Pocket PC. Another innovation is detecting the incoming
calls. VoiceDialer will wait for an incoming call and if the call is from a
contact from the list of voice tags, it will loudly play the voice tag.
This way, user doesn't have to look at the screen to see who is calling: a
perfect solution for those who prefer watching the road instead of peering
at the PDA. Users who love customizing their handhelds will enjoy new skins
that include sounds. A cat's "meow" or a robot's beep is played when
VoiceDialer starts hearing to a tag. This also allows pronouncing a tag
without looking at the screen. Owners of PDAs that support Landscape mode
can also use VoiceDialer in this screen mode.
VITO VoiceDialer supports all Phone Edition devices such as O2XDA,
T-Mobile, XDAII, MDAII, and I-mate as well as general Pocket PCs. It is
available as an executable file or as a .cab archive for over-the-air
download. Provided trial version works without any limitations for 14 days;
full version can be purchased for $15.95 at the company's Web site
