The Federal Communications Commission has given ASUSTeK permission to release a CompactFlash card that offers GPRS wireless service.
This device allows a Pocket PC with a CompactFlash slot to connect to GPRS wireless networks. The handheld can then be used as a mobile phone. In addition, it allows the user to connect to the Internet to surf the Web or exchange email. The theoretical data-transfer speed for GPRS is 144 Kbps, though real-world performance is typically about half that.
