Random red looking chain figure on top of screen

There is a red colored, looks kinda like a chain that goes across the top of my screen. I'm pretty sure that it just got on there today and I have no idea how it got there. Please help if you have any idea what this is and how to get it off, whether I'll need to do a hard reset or something like that.

May be a Today's pluggin you just installed. For example, if you install Magic Button, you can display battery status on the top by a line. Look at the at your installed program list (through the "Remove Program" in settings), remove one or two from the top of the list, and see if it solves your problem.
