I'm looking for some type of software to help me with scouting for football. I have an Axim X51v with WM5. I've done a little searching but havn't found anything useful yet. I need to be able to mark down formations quickly. I was even just thinking about using a paint program to draw it down. Any good Paint programs also would be useful. Thanks ahead of time.
I found a number of applications that might fit your needs on a Google search.
However, you might be better off making complex play formations on a larger screen. If you're going to use a paint type application, a laptop could suit you better.
Well I do make the plays on a larger screen, I use my desktop for that. But I can't take it with me to the playfield, and I don't want to lug around a laptop, especially when I move around a lot. I'm sure there's a paint program that will let me quickly scribble a play down out there.
There are lots of paint type programs available for PPC, but the simplest method would be to use the Notes program that's already installed. It allows you to draw with the stylus and even has lines that can represent 10 yard lines. Just an idea... Have a look (see attached, change .txt to .pwi and copy to Axim to view note file).
