Birthday alarm blues

I'm new to the axim 51v and am having trouble with recurring items on my Outlook Calendar - birthdays in particular. The alarm goes off at midnight, which is not the time I normally want to buy that card or send that email. How can I set up recurring items and choose a more useful alarm time?

Unfortunately; you have run into the problem of alarms without "times" issue. At midnight the alarm will go off for any event your scheduled to get an alarm from, due to your PDA being "ON" at midnight, it assumes you are using it.

The same would be true if you left your computer on and Outlook open and running.

Microsoft posted this webpage, and even recommeded a couple of apps that might help you with your problem.

While this is not an inline fix for your problem, it might give you better control of your system.

Thanks for the news, it'll save me hours searching for 'no can do'. I've just quickly checked out the Microsoft page and looked at their suggested apps. Can't they just fix this themselves???!!

In any case I was thinking of trying a recommended PIM called 'the dog ate it' for various reasons - does anybody know if this would fix the problem?
