Flash Player Plug-in

I own a Dell AXIM X51v. I am having difficulty viewing websites that require Flash 6 plug-in. I receive the following message: "This site uses the Flash Plug-in (Version 6). Would you like to download it now?" I have installed and uninstalled Flash Player 6. I have also tried to install Flash Player 7 (using my laptop and trying to install it on my Axim and directly trying to install it from Macromedia's website using my Axim without success). Does anyone know how to install Flash on Pocket PC Mobile 5.0? Do I need an additional player for the Flash software to work? Thanks.

You should be able to use the flash player 7 for WM 5 available here. Did you already try this?

Thanks, but I already tried that. I have downloaded Flash 7 to my laptop and tried to load it on my Axim, but that did not work. I also tried to directly downloaded it from Macromedia's website to my Axim without success. When I try to download it directly to my Axim, all I receive is a page of computer code. If you like, I can try and copy & paste the code I receive.

Sorry, you say you have downloaded the file to your Laptop and tryed installing it from there.

If the file is still on your laptop, check to see if its a CAB file if not go back to Adobe and look for Macromedia Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC. Download the CAB file to your laptop.

Pop you X51v into your ActiveSync and copy the file over to your device. Put it into a Temp folder or on the SD/CF.

Go find the file on your device and then just tap it. It should start loading.

You should Soft Reset after it's finished.

I have been struggling with flash player also.
I did install it as kellyt suggested and checked it out on tvnz.
I can see the flash advertisements, so I guess it works. What's been causing me trouble is trying to view the videos on YouTube.
Is that just not possible on a pocket pc?
I have an Axim X51 with pocket pc 2005.

From what I have read, youtube uses Flash 8.5 codec. Flash 7 is the newest Windows Mobile release.

If I'm not mistaking, youtube uses flash 8 encoded flv's...with the newer codec. I don't know if fp7 for pocketpc supports that.
youtube probably has a check for fp8, so you would get that warning anyway."

Yip, Mahstah is right, Youtube need Flash 8, bugger it... some good stuff on there to watch too!

Haven't been able to find anything on Flash 8 for Pocket PC's, guess we'll have to wait.
