AOL 2.0.55 soft buttons block SEND button

I have AOL software installed on my Axim51v. The WM5 places a blue bar on the bottom of the AOL mail screen making it impossible to press the SEND or FORWARD button. The SEND and FORWARD buttons disappeared. How can I send AOL email on my Axim51v.

The first correct solution will receive a Starbux coupon good for a cappuccino.

Greetings karaxim1-

It appears that AOL 2.0.55 requires Windows Mobile 2003 1st edition only. Your X51v runs a different OS, Windows Mobile 5.

If you purchased it for a previous device, you unfortunately won't be able to use it on your new device. If you purchased it just for your X51v, send a mail to PocketGear/Handango/other purchase location and ask for a refund, explaining that it isn't compatible. I have gotten refunds for software I didn't like from PocketGear before.

Alternatively, you can configure your Outlook to communicate via IMAP with AOL.

One cappuccino, please.

Mahstah

Aol

Thank you Mahstah. You explained why it won't work, but to get a cappuccino, you need to explain how to make AOL work on WM5. The AOL 2.0 program worked so well on the old IPAQ.

The built in e-mail on WM5 I've been using, and it is clunky in comparison to the old AOL .

You will not ever be able to use AOL 2.0.55 on your X51v. If you asked AOL support they would tell you the same thing. If AOL releases a new version it might support WM5.

The only solution would be to go back in time, work for Dell development management, and release an X51v that runs a 2 generation old OS without VGA. Then AOL would work fine.

I am enjoying my FTO Peruvian light roast right now.

well, the AOL does work omn WM 5. I have been using it for 3 months to READ, but, I cannot send anything.

But I appreciate your confirming the problem is WM5.

I am heading over to Quartermaines now for a superb cappuccino.they roast their own beans.excellent

Karaxim, Don't make offers that you then do not keep. I hope you have arranged to send Mahstah his coupon.

I'm sure Mahstah did not help just for the cappucino, but I do hope he gets to enjoy it !!

Dear Drifter-
Thak you for your comment. To get he cappuccino, and the offer is now for super grande, the advice must make the AOL 2.0 work on WM5. Mahsta explained why it didn't work, and he offered a different approach altogether via IMAP , which I already knew. I don't like IMAP - The old AOL was superb. My offer still stands -make AOL 2.0.55 work , with SEND, on WM5, and you get a cappuccino. Indeed, the offer now soars to two cappuccinos.( or is that cappuccini?) Perhaps that Tweaks program could erase the blue bar that obscures the SEND button - but I didn't see that option within the current version of tweaks

Hi karaxim1-

I really wish I could help you. There is NO advice anyone can give you to make it compatible. The only people who could help you are AOL's programming team. They need to write a version of the application that fully supports WM5. Until then I'll have to stick with my home-ground french pressed exquisite concoction of earthy organic Arabica. I really don't care about the coupon, I'm just trying to assist. I hope a new version gets released for you that is a free upgrade.

Cappuccino for Mahstah for excellent answer re AOL

Well, you're advice on the workaround turns out to fine. I am using the Messaging program built into the Axim51v, andm after reading something in the Dell forum, I have gotten it not only to read, but to SEND , too.

I am very grateful for your assistance.

How can I get a Starbux card to you?
