Mobile Favorites Woes

I have had a Pocket PC for over two years, first a Dell X5 and now a X50. Until recently, I had good luck downloading and viewing websites using mobile favorites.
For the last couple of weeks, the mobile favorites are continously greyed out on my X50 and are accessable only when connected to the Internet. The sites do not seem to be available to view offline. Why is this?

The sites do not appear to download on my PC correctly. From the Internet Explorer on my PC , going to Tools/Synchronize... The properties of the offline webpages lists the size at like 20 Kilobytes for each site. Doesn't this sound a bit small? And is this a indication of my problems?

Any help will be appreciated.

An update:
The "Make available offline" option is checked on the Mobile Favorites Icon.It seems only a link is stored, as the pages will load if connected to the Internet. The sites will not load while offline, either on my PC or the PDA.
