Handmark has done it again. Not a surprise that a company that perfectly ported the board games Scrabble, and Monopoly, could step out of the porting business to bring you the most complete RTS game available on the PPC today. Plain and simple, this is a great game.
Landscape!
Can a game's options make it that much better? Yes. One option in particular is the landscape mode. I love playing games in landscape mode on my PPC. Warfare Inc. has the option to run in landscape mode for both 90 degree, and 270 degree. Great if you’re left handed and the normal landscape just doesn’t feel right for you.

You can also scale back options, graphics, sound, for slower models PPCs. I ran all options maxed out and the game ran smooth as silk. Nice touch considering the sound and graphics are really nicely done. You can play a challenge mission, or through the “story” mode. There are three different difficulty settings. From easy, which is easy, to difficult which is quit a challenge. I played on normal the first time through, and found some of the missions to be difficult enough to be a great fun challenge.
Again, this game is just plain fun. You play as Andy Whitmore, a security trainee “thrown into a daunting situation”. The first mission is a training mission meaning that’s how you learn to play. But it’s not “training” per se, as it’s actually the first mission in the game, so you learn as you play. Generally speaking, I hate the beginning “training’ portions of most games. This one however, starts the storyline out perfectly.

Basically you are working for one of two corporations who are fighting for control over planets to mine a certain resource. Mine for resources while protecting your machines, and attacking the rival corporations mining facility. The game play is fast and smooth. The game is based mostly on the combat, hence the name Warfare. And the combat is fast and fun while the storyline keeps you wanting to play the next level.
I’ve never been a big fan of the RTS genre of games. This game has changed my mind. The great graphics and addictive game play make this a must-own title for your PDA.

Price…it’s not cheap at $29.99, but its well worth it
I couldn’t get my screen capture program, MagicSS, to work with it
Bottom line, you have to buy this game. In my scale, 10 is perfect. In my mind, nothing is perfect. This game comes as close as possible.
9.5 out of 10
