Recently, I managed to get a hold on Ballshooter’s BrickSlider. The game itself which was updated to version 2 a few weeks ago doesn’t offers much from the original, but the game still offer lots of fun
What They Say
BrickSlider for Windows CE is a unique combinatorial mind game. You need to clear the board from bricks using other bricks and additional artifacts like virus, bomb, vortex, etc. The rules are simple, but the game is very addictive...
Installation
Installation is via ActiveSync, and it took 880128 bytes of memory. The application runs fine when installed in a storage card.
Features
Game Objective
In this game, you have to make sure that you clear board and any obstacles by sliding bricks in a central zone of 10x10 cells. The game ends when you ran out of cells to slide the brick into.
Menu
The game’s menu is very clear and easy to navigate. The menu consists of Options, Records, and most of all the Help Feature.
The Options feature now only consists of disabling the Sound and changing skin. The difficulty level that was in the first version was remove, and the Mode and Skin was consolidated in to one, the Skin Feature.
Tapping on records only shows you who achieved the highest level and score.
The Help feature is a quick seven pages and concise tutorial of the game.
Game Play
I’m sure the game is easy enough when you look at, and that this game is a walk in a park, well think again. This game requires concentration and lots of thinking. It is easy to presume to slide the brick anywhere in the central zone to get ride of the obstacles, but you have to look where you’re sliding the brick and which direction it is heading – was that the brick to slide?
If you did make a few bad slides, you can undo the last three slides that you did.
Wish List
This is a game that really doesn’t require any musical background, but for some, they might enjoy an option to where they could enable background music - maybe in the next version.
Conclusion
This is not your average
Bejeweled game where you can take chances. This is a game that requires strategy, positioning, and thinking. If you’re into this type of game, then you will enjoy this game. One thing that I did noticed while I was doing this review, it took a strong enough will for me to put the game down because it is addictive, and I almost didn’t get this review on time. I highly recommend this game.
