Friends, members, how does everyone like the portal? I'm all done with the transition and wanted some feedback. I appreciate the votes.

I hate to be the first to complain, but I don't really like the new site. There is too much going on!
Currently, I have no less than 14 different 'boxes' open on the page. Even at a high resolution, it looks really cluttered and I can't find a way to turn off some of the boxes. I mean, I don't really care to see the "Weather" or the "Current Time" or have a "Google Search" box, etc. Can't I JUST have the "Forum Listing", "Forum Search" and Forum content boxes on the page?
Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is there a way to customize this?
The site used to be much simpler and vastly easier to read/navigate.
That's just my 2 cents, though...

Hey Ninja,
The site looks great, but the more I use it I tend to agree that it is a little busy. And also most of the people here are pretty computer savy and can get Google or the weather if they want it. So the comment from 'jproudfo' seems to make sense.
I haven't had any problem with all the open windows, but I shut them down as I finish with them.
And I really like the 'Member Box', that really ties it all up so that I can do all the things I want to in a central location.
Thanks for the hard work, this site is the best around for AXIMs and most everything else!

I like the portal Ninja, you have done a wonderful job with it! B) At first, I thought it was a little cluttered, but I am getting used to it! It seems to be easy to find things once you know where to look on the main page.
Question about Accuweather....where is this weather located, it says 9 degrees right now, but in Minneapolis it is 1, I think the HIGH was 9 today! Going down to 15 below tonight............ (!)
That is 3 smilies in one post baby!

I was testing many of those boxes during the initial run with this portal. I have taken the advice posted here, and from some of my friends and have simplified the site.
What do you all think?

I like it better. It's cleaner and 'looks' easier to navigate, even though its the same.
As always Ninja---great job!
Of course I did like having the most active posters listed. I wanted to see how long I could stay in the top ten; until I can't balance this and work...
