Angry? Not in the slightest. You shouldn't be, either. Life's too short.

So what if you post a link to some place and this forum changes it without telling you they can.
1. Either drop the ads.
2. Just put a disclaimer that they are there.
Check out this thread over at PocketPCThoughts on what is going on here. I don't recall seeing such a post here.

Maybe if we can donate to remove them will that be possible?

Very interesting. Jason Dunn has been at this for a bit longer than I have. This is a constant learning process for me, and seeing something like that thread on PocketPC Thoughts is very helpful.
I appreciate the comments and concerns that my readers have, and I have to admit, having posted something like Jason did would have been more professional and courteous. I have turned down the number of highlighted words in this new ad program to see what sort of impact this has.
Also, like it says in the thread on PocketPC Thoughts, the only browser these ads work on is Internet Explorer. As I continue to learn, I'll get better at this game. I'm sorry if I have upset anyone. The last thing I want to do is lose readers.

Ok, I'm glad that this discussion happened. I use Mozilla and I had no idea what everyone was talking about because I don't see the ad words. Thanks for posting that screenshot, now I know whats going on.

me too.
But know i know what that was all about, then Please take that ad program away, ninja! Or at least make it really, really, obvious (if you can) that the poster did NOT put those links in himself, that the forum software or whatever did.
Thanks ~

Fair enough. Less is a great start. Its too bad you can't direct them to Pocket PC stuff, rather than what they do now. That might actually be useful.
Anyway, the reason why they only work in IE 6 is because as you saw in the PPCT thread,
Learn more about these here..

Note that isn't a MS Support site... :P

Outside of this discussion, I'm starting to feel like dropping IE and moving totally to Mozilla/Firebird because of this and other ad stuff that only seems to work in IE. The fact that MS still has not popup blocker is amazing to me. Sure you can download you own, but popups are such a bad way to market that I don't even go to sites with them. Heck even ESPN!

Wierdness. The other site's words seem to be working, while this site's do not. I'm using Opera.

Firebird rocks!
I absolutely love it, I've got all my plug-ins and I'll never go back to Explorer
I especially love the built in pop-up blocker, nothing has ever sqeezed passed it.

I like Firebird, but I think that regular Mozilla is better. There were a couple of plugins I couldn't get to work right in Firebird, and it acts really wierd with my weblog. Mozilla 1.5 is fantastic! I have IE, Firebird, Mozilla and Opera and I like Mozilla the best. The only problem I have with Mozilla is when I try to admin a user on my PHP board it always throws my username in automatically, instead of the person that I'm adminning.
If it wasn't for that little issue, I'd dump IE forever.

You should be able to fix that! Try going to Tools•Form Manager•Edit Form Info and poke around there. If you don't see it, look in Tools•Password Manager. Good luck and long live Mozilla!
