Maybe we could wait until dell comes out the next generation of Axims and get them to sponser the Contest. :shifty:
The prize could be... an Axim? *here's for dreamin'*

LOL 2_hotty!
I was wondering where is the inbetween vote? or even a little on either side of pure median? Anyway, its a refreshing new taste! [/b][/quote]
I agree with Starscream -- where is the in between vote ?
Love it is a little strong wording, I think it looks just fine, and you should feel comfortable doing whatever you like to the look of your own Forum site. A couple other sites have held contests so I think that would have worked too.
I'm going to be honest though and say I don't completely remember exactly what the old one looked like ( I have to confess that I visit several Axim, PocketPC, etc. Forum sites and when I tried to remember the old one here, I'm not sure I remember it vividly ).

If you don't remember it vividly, then it wasn't all that great. I can VIVIDLY remember what Pocket PC Thoughts' logo is like, as it's a pretty cool illustration of a Pocket PC.

Dude, you don't think that sounds ungrateful?
Well, I hope you're not expecting people top run around screaming about how awesome that logo is. Do you believe that is a fabulous illustration of an Axim? The other one was better, IMO. Not really crazy about the "Brushed" 'Axim' look... it kinda takes away from the tightness/crispness of the Axim.
I'm a part of about 15 forums, and I couldn't tell you the logo of any of them. I think the fair way to vote on which one is better, is to post both of them, and have people chose, A or B. Or something similar.
I also think the contest is a way cool idea. The idea of possibly having Dell sponsor it, sounds pretty fun too. Either way, with all the resources you have as far as people in the field of graphics, it was pretty retarded to pay for one.
But, alas, have fun in whatever you decide to do.

Well, I can VIVIDLY remember that your new logo looks like the Nasa logo.
It's not that I made the other one, it's just that I think it looks better. Here it is for those that havn't seen it, or those that don't remember what it looks like.

A couple of things:
- having Dell sponsor a contest is probably going to generate all sorts of unpleasant stickiness relating to trademarks, copyrights, etc. possibly even resulting in Dell produding a "cease and desist" letter
- all due respect to 2_hotty, but a logo is generally something that is distinctive, and from a technical perspective is something that can be trademarked, which means it has to have something in it that is a specific, unique design element. The old logo didn't have that, 3 or 4 layers with varying opacity don't count. A perfect example of what I am talking about are the logos for Dell and Intel. They aren't just "Dell", but "D-funny E-L-L, Dell". Likewise, Intel.
So, if it comes down to a vote of A or B, I choose B, not because "A" is bad or "B" is better, but because in my mind "B" is more of a logo (or what I think a logo should be) than "A". That said, I am all for a contest (and might even enter it myself), but I would say leave Dell out of it.
