Hi all,

This is a post that I put on Bit-Tech'sforum and thought I would share it here also. I am a mod enthusiast and just finished up a little mod on my pc. Take a look, let me know if you enjoy it

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just wanted to post some pics that are a result of an inquery I made at a different post concerning cold cathode dimming.

After finding out that you can dim cathodes, I went to work (very easy, hardly any effort on my part). I just received a Vantec Nexus lighted fan bus in the mail today. And I decided to hook up my cathode to bay 1 and see if it would dim. Well, it did... and it worked beautifully. Here are some verious pics I took at various levels:

Vantec Nexus

Lowest Level

Medium Level

Highest Level

Nothing fancy or hi-tech... but it gets the job done with minimal effort from a newbie. Hopefully this is just the start to my modding experience

cjorli, are you asking if this site could have a mod section?

Not for desktop PCs, but if you wanted to discuss them under Regular BS, like you did, that's fine.

Now, if people started modding their Axim's, that would be a completely different story!

I wasn't really asking for a mod section, the title was kind of a joke

But to mod the Axim.... could be interesting :shifty:

I think it'd be great to see someone mod their Axim (or someone else's).

Hmmm....doesn't that defeat the purpose? PDAs are supposed to be as small and sleek as possible. If anything, modding a PDA means taking things away from it, not adding to it. I'd love to see someone convert their Axim (or other PDA) into a true mobile computer, with head-mounted display, etc.

If anyone wants to invest $2000 for parts, I could do it in a couple weeks.

What if what you added or changed on the Axim stayed within the chassis and didn't increase the size of it? Hmmmm....

Cjorli:

Have you ever submitted your pictures to Maximum PC Magazine? They pick one modified PC a month for their "Rig of the Month". You could definitely get in!

Nice job with your PC! B)
