Welcome to the modern days! I HATE dial up... but, if you have to get on, and that's all you have, then you grin and bear it!

i have to agree, i could never go back to dial-up. Everything is fast and since I'm always on I just wait for the browser to come up.
Also, downloads are great. I downloaded a CD in under 15 minutes and this was peak time. Plus files etc are great.
With the streaming audio and video, no problems of jumping or stopping mid stream.

Well, I have to admit, I'm even more spoiled then the average broadband user.
The University where I work is part of the Internet2 project, and I've got a giga-bit connection to the switch, from there it's all pure fiber baby!
I actually go home and and get grumpy at how slow my cable modem is.
However, it appears Karma is going to bite me in the butt for this. They are remodeling the building we are in, demolishing our portion completely. Consequently, our whole office is being moved off campus into temporary office space 2/3 the size of our current space. We are also losing our lovely I2 connection and are going to be sharing a fractional T1, with five floors of other people.
The scary part (for me) is our current office was also a "temporary" move... one that lasted almost 15 years.
