Windows XP

I know this isn't Pocket PC related but this is my closest and smartest computing community.

I am using Windows XP and enjoy the "XP look" This is officially known as luna. So somone in my family screwed up my computer apparently and now the XP look is not only no longer loaded, but will not load. "The Theme could not load. Unspecified error" I did all my regular troubleshooting techniques, even transfered the luna.theme file from my friend to the windows\themes folder but it still didn't work.
Anyone experience anything of the sort or know how to help me?

not an idea... that's really weird,

if you have system restore enabled, maybe try to restore to before someone messed it up, as you can always go back to the fututreif it doesnt work.

I just tried system restore before I got on here today, no help.
I have no idea what could have happened.
I'm just so angry and my whole computer looks like crap now.

System Restore works great if an application failed to work, and you want to bring your system back to where it was.

As for repairing the Windows, you might want to boot from your CD, and do an "R" for repair when it comes to the Windows XP Setup part of the installation - then just follow the instructions.

I guess its not that big of a deal. I didn't get the XP cd with my computer. So thats out of the question. I can't believe this just happened and noone else has experienced it.
I'm beginning to think it was just a flaw somewhere as opposed to someone screwing it up. I can't find a possible solution anywhere.

Are there any alternative themes without using any third-party programs?
