yeah, like, pretty soon they will have tiny nano-bugs that crawl in your ear at night, and use a tiny "laser" to melt your brain, causing it to drain out through your nose and eyesockets. Then it will grow and take over your body. Then useing your body as a host, it will bake some chocolate chip cookies. Because nanobugs have always wanted to eat chocolate chip cookies, but they couldnt because they had no mouth and they are just too damn small.

That is fascinating. Truly once you can fit a card that's over a gig you have a complete handheld computer.
You're right about the expense, it will be high, the only good news is the 1 gig cards are going to drop in price. Imagine all you can put on a card like that.
I just wonder how much of a drain it will be on the battery.

I like the 1g CF cards better. Even though the capacity is smaller, they're solid state. My e740 came with a warning about leaving a microdrive in your PDA, because of the heat they generate.

I'm still hesistant to grab a microdrive due to the battery comsumption. As 2_hotty just mentioned also, you have to deal with heat with the microdrive.
Pretec just announced a 1.5, 2, and 3 GB CF card a couple of months ago, and I think I would prefer that over a microdrive.

You know how much those 3gb CF cards are, right? you could buy six Advanced Axim's or fourteen 512mb CF cards for the price of one 3gb CF card..
Thats nearly $770 per Gb..

I will currently stick with 256MB Compact Flash cards, they are the best for the value by far, and almost never can I think of a time where I would need that much memory, all at once anyway.
Considering you can get in-PC hard drive space for about $2/gig, and more compact notebook-sized for about $4/gig, the compact flash at $hundreds/gig doesn't seem as attractive... at least not until these are out for a while and the price starts to come down. If I needed more memory at once, I'd get an SD to go in simultaneously.
