I didn't like The Bourne Identity. Here is why:
The Book was tremendous, one of the best books I have ever read. The only similarities between the movie and the book were basically the character names. That was a let down.
Also Bourne was supposed to be this super trained agent and...sorry if Matt is reading this, as Matt Damon is a good actor, but he looked like a little kid, I think he was way too young, or young looking, to play the part.
The did a mini-series on it in the '70s with Richard Chamberlain and Jacqueline Smith which was very close to the book...it is outdated now, but still a much better flick.
The good news or bad news depending on how you liked it is that they are slated to start production of the other 2 books in the series this year, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, with Matt Damon starring again. <_<
Also the girl in Bourne is the female lead in "The Recruit".

If you want to see Robin Williams just BUST OUT with serious chops all over the place, see "Death to Smoochy". Easily on my list of the the top ten funniest movies of all time. I couldn't stop laughing. Be forewarned, however...."Smoochy" is not for everyone, it's a dark comedy that just oozes satire and sarcasm. If that's not your style of comedy, you probably won't like the movie.
I liked the Bourne Identity. I'm not a big Damon fan, his characters always seem forced to me, but I'll take a movie with him in it over Ben Affleck any day.
If you're looking for a very thought-provoking (and hilariously funny in the vein of "Smoochy") movie, rent S1M0NE.

Death to Smoochy, huh? And I was afraid to see it, even though I am a serious Robin Williams fan.

Williams rocked the house (in my opinion) in "Smoochy". Stellar performance.

Definitely. Catherine Keener is one of my favorites.
I think one of the best parts of "Smoochy" was when Smoochy was singing that song about the stepdad. I forget the words, exactly, but it went something like:
"My stepdad's not mean, he's just adjusting"
...or something like that. Then the kids all chorused in with the same phrase, I was almost rolling on the floor I was laughing so hard.

My Favorites:
Six String Samurai: Surf-guitar, sword-fights, and elvis in apocolyptic Amerika. (What more do you want!)
PI (Although my wife hates it and refuses to every watch it again.)
Highlander (only the first.)
Blade. (Ditto)
Ghost in the Shell
Aliens
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Thomas Crown Affair
Titus
Iron Monkey
The One (And pretty much every other Jet Li film)
Any Jackie Chan... (Though I slept through Shanghai Nights)
...
I'm trying to think of any other films that I like that aren't Wu-shu/swordfight/sci-fi and I having a hard time...
ummm Remains of the Day?
I liked "Bourne Identity" but it exists in a totally different place in my skull then the books. Like the "Eiger Sanction" that Clint Eastwood did a version of... *shudder* (But I still like Clint.)

if you like PI, check out Requiem for a Dream. Some of the same cast members, and same director (you can deffinitely tell). Also check out Memento. Indie films at its premium.
