Ok, so I am a music guy. Meaning a good 80% of my life involves music. I listen, i play, i create, i seek new artists, i attend hella concerts (being an hour from seattle, my yearly ave will go WAY up.), i read about it, i sport band apparel... just to name a few. Anywho, what does everyone listen to? I believe most of you (the forum members) are "a few years" older than me, but thats ok , i also happen to like discussing music.
Here is a "taste" of what im listening to: - In the CD player right now: Queens of the Stone Age "songs for the deaf", Loudermilk "the Red Record", Disturbed "Believe"
- All time faves (a few): Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Static-X, Depeche Mode, Paul Oakenfold, Rage Against the Machine, the Who, and V.A.S.T.
- best "new" band discovery: The Faint (actually they're old.. like from 97 or soemthing, but i just found out about em. im sure theyve never "made it", but they are awesome.)
- best concert(s) ive seen: in no order, NIN, Rammstein, Depeche Mode, the Who
I do listen to some rap, but only what i call "intelligent rap". i.e. Outkast, Nappy Roots, Eminem, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre...
ok  Your turn!! (you dont have to do a list if you dont want )

All time faves (a few): Song: Bowling For Soup - Girl All The Bad Guys Want
Artist: Linkin Park & Blink 182 & Foo Fighters
best "new" band discovery: Not really sure..
best concert(s) ive seen: I've never been to one yet but I think I'm going to see a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert later this year when they come to my area.

Ive been listening to Zwan.... i like it.. its like old school pumpkins! I want to try and see them when they come to seattle (but the pumpkins always took their time getting up here for some reason..)
A few other sweet concerts ive been to:
Static-x (4x), Tool (2x), Ozzfest 98&99, Orgy, Rammstein (3x), Mindless Self Indulgence(2x), Cold (2x, i saw their first show in 2 years at Tattoo the Earth 2k).
I'm also hooked on the new Busta Rhymes song: "Make it Clap" (remix). Its awesome, and addictive.
I am also waiting for Cold's 3rd release "Year of the Spider". If you havent heard them, i suggest you do. I cant think of a single song I dont care for by them!

well back in the day when i was a fan of Limp Bizkit (the first 2 albums were awesome, now i cant stand Fred Durst), I bought the first cold album ('98) cause they were on Fred's Label- Flip.
I liked their unique sound. I got into them even more when they finally released their 2nd CD. They are deffintely awesome.

For the last couple months ive been on the new Mod band binge... well i guess not a binge, but i dig the new sound. But im listening to The Hives and The Vines. Both bands have some similarity, but i like it (i think both are from sweden too.
OH also, a band i know (personally) Loudermilk is really worth checking out if you like the pumpkins.. Similar sound, yet different and innovative (hard to find these days..). But I actually met them through a friend at work who grew up with them, and when theyve come into town we always chill with em.. Really cool down to earth guys that just love to play music. anyway, check em out:
Loudermilk
and
Kill Loudermilk
my PC desktop loudermilk wallpaper can be found here

Starscream:
I was surprised to see you list Depeche Mode as one of your faves seeing that you're "younger than most" of us other Forum members.
They have long been one of my favorite bands and I've seen them twice in concert -- once a big stadium affair in DC and the other a really small club appearance ( also in DC ).
BTW, you were almost born on my birthday -- only 20 years later ( mine is Aug. 27, 1960 to your Aug. 29, 1980 ).

lol, thats cool. Yeah its only been in the last few years that i have really grown to like DM. When i first started dateing my GF, DM was one of her favorite bands and i couldnt stand them (i was a metal head ONLY), so needless to say it was pretty much cause of her. I dont care for too much of their really early stuff still, but i like almost all the songs on "the singles 86-98". I even have the DVD. So yeah, ive found something good that came from the 80s! I also like some of the other new wave group singles.. Flock of Seagulls, DOA, the Cure, Duran Duran, Berlin, etc. I really like electronic/techno/industrial music, and the 80s is where it all started

BTW, some awesome groups have covered DM songs:
Rammstein: Stripped
Smashing Pumpkins: Never let me down again
Johnny Cash, Gravity Kills: Personal Jesus
Deftones: to have and to hold
the Cure: World in my eyes
God Lives Underwater: fly on the widescreen
Gus Gus: monument
(most can be found on the CD "for the Masses"
