Virus Overwhelms Global Internet Systems

I know some of you have heard about it, or experienced the Internet crawled like molasses late Satruday night. Well I for one have experienced it, and I couldn't even access this site because of a replicating virus that spread and attacked Microsoft SQL Servers that are connected to the Internet. :angry:

Come to think about it, I have to be at work at 6 AM tomorrow because of this virus. Oh well. <_<

W32.SQLExp.Worm is a Category 3 worm that targets servers running Microsoft SQL. The worm sends 376 bytes to 1434/udp (the SQL Server Resolution Service Port).

Symantec Security Response recommends configuring perimeter devices to block 1434/udp traffic from untrusted hosts.

The worm has the unintended payload of performing a Denial of Service due to the large number of packets it sends out.
