Don't worry, after you post enough times you will become a full member.
(I had the exact same question when I first joined)

Thanx Big E
My confusion is away.
Firstly, I got that the site is some how automatically trying to evaluate the visitors by using some "Fuzzy Logic".
Hmmmm..................Expert System..................
Anyway Big Thanx to Big E

Yeah. It's something we came up with to promote people POSTING on the site instead of just coming here form OTHER sites JUST to win contests. Maybe this will spawn a new idea... you can only WIN a contest if you truly have "member" status. What do you think of that?

I like the idea.
Now, I m feeling comfort with the "Member" status and getting more interested in this site.
Definitely, not for the "Give Aways and Discounts" but for the knowledgeful and to the point discussions I found here on different topics.
I think you should start a new Thread for the discussion on the Topic
i.e. "GiveAways/Discounts" for Members only.

we have several threads and even a contest link on the very lefthand side of the screen. The more you visit the site, the more you will hear about contests and exclusive discounts. Wonderful sites, like AUDC, thrive on active participation from its members, whom can pool from knowledge and expierence. Gaining member status has its advantages ^_^ . SO, Visit, participate, have fun, and you wont miss a beat! BTW, Welcome to Axim Users Dot Com!

I tend to think you'll wind up with a lot of garbage posts that do nothing to improve the forum or community.
not that I condone such things, just that's the probable outcome such a policy would have.
now if you wanted to hold a contest where the person who made the highest quality contribution during the contest period wins then that would be something else (though it might be hard to judge).
I actually think that contest which requires contestants to post a review of something might be a good way to get the best of both worlds - contestants have to contribute worthwhile content.
(damn, now I wish I something to review - I have *no* accessories and not much more in the way of software)

Although I'm generally one for change, I don't think changing the current system in terms of member status and contest eligability will make anything better on this website. The site's subject is rather essoteric to begin with, and I think we are only getting people who are genuinely interested in the subject of the Dell handheld family. If I were to suggest any changes, I might ask that a Dell representative user be arranged in order to help out and possibly answer any technical questions. Otherwise, this forum is perfect, people being good neighbors and helping eachother out, offering advice, opinions and products in a well designed environment. I know I sound like a hippy, but it's true. I'm entirely happy with the way things work around here. :music:

Cherub, I agree with you, since the site name makes it Dell specific so there must be some Dell Representative to answer the queries.
He/She may answer the technical questions once or twice a week.
I think that will make the site absolutely perfect.
Another thing, Instead of the Tags showing members status like
"Here for the giveaways as well"
users can be assigned relatively better Tags e.g.
NewComer/Beginner etc.
How z about the idea.
Regards...
