Hey everyone. I am looking for some ideas for a PPC application. I am a developer, and I could use some side work. So I figured I would ask the Axim users community if anyone might have any business needs that could be filled by developing a custom PPC application.
Thanks.

At my office, we would like a way to sync all of our Ax's with an administrative computer (over the network) so that the agency would have a "Master Calendar" showing everyone's schedule.

The Pocket Excel is pretty limited. A spreadsheet that could do some higher function of regular Excel , like merged cells, ect. ,would be nice.

Check out www.m-vision.tv for our PPC consumer app. We believe the PPC is the perfect device to deliver and receive mobile media entertainment. As PPC becomes more consumerised in price and user demographics, consumer applications must follow. Stick with the consumer apps and you cannot lose. Download our free software and you will get the idea.

Here's an idea -- how about a utility that automates the reinstallation of all your software for those times when you do a ROM or PocketPC 2003 upgrade?
There's been a discussion thread on this subject on Pocketpcthoughts.com.
This is different than a backup program -- backups are great for life's everyday disasters, but useless when you do a ROM or operating system upgrade. Here's how I see the application working:
1. Just after you do a hard reset and set up Activesync, you install the utility.
2. As you install other programs on the PocketPC, the utility keeps track of the installs and archives a copy of the CAB files, or whatever else is needed for installation. The files are stored in a folder or file on a flash card. The utility is smart enough to ask for the archine flashcard whenever it is not found.
3. If you uninstall a program from the PocketPC, the utility also removes the files from the archive.
4. A reinstall program is also stored on the flash card as part of the utility package.
5. Should you need to do a reinstall, you do a hard reset (or use a new PocketPC) and just insert the flash card and run the reinstall utility. It automatically reinstalls every program to the location that you originally used.

Hmmm...computer screens are landscape, PDA screens are portrait. When I use Terminal Services to get to the server at work (for that matter, any web-browsing), I'm scrolling around, or I've got to make the text microscopic.
How about something that turns the screen 90degrees?
I know it can be done, because GoToMyPC does this.

I'd really like to see a cd player for Pocket PC. I have my drives mapped from my local computer, but have to stream the music through ShoutCAST or rip them to mp3 if I want to listen to my cds around the house.
Thanks,

:alien: Hello, i run a little campsite in France and i "developped" a small application to take the bar and restaurant orders (only 10 meals a day), but it is done with mixing 3 applications together and using some key macros's on the PC side to print the bill.
This king of application exists on a Palm but not yet on a PPC.
Maybe this could be an idea ....
