2) what's the best program out there?

Check this THREAD.
I have not really used any AV utilities for my PPCs. The way I see it, all the PCs that I connect to have up-to-date AV definitions, so there's no need for an AV in my PPCs.

B-I-N-G-O RommelS! It would be a waste of money for AV software for a PPC, unless you install apps right from the internet through your PPC.
If you have up-to-date definitions on your desktop why pay extra for one to scan the same files when you put them on your PPC.
I had this discussion with someone this past weekend who thought that there are "special" viruses out there that only hit PPCs and that the regular AV apps can't find them.
As far as I know that isn't true . . . yet.

I just bought the upgrad to mcaffee viruscan 7.0 it is supposed to scan your pda for virus. I get mine free after rebates from officemax, and thats a better deal than the $14.95 for an additional year of dat updates.
I will post my views on this when I get it up and have some experience with the scan process.
BTW, as far as I know there are no pda viruses. Is that still true?

Like I said before, that Palm has been hit with viruses. As far as I know, there isn't any PPC Viruses out.
