I have been using a Palm device for six years, and am now making the leap to a Dell Axim PocketPC. My Axim should arrive by next week.
I have calendar and address data on my Palm from January 2001, which I keep for reference purposes. Some of this data is of a personal nature, which is why I use the Palm desktop program for my PIM instead of Outlook.
The Dell will be syncing with Outlook 2000, which is installed on my computer for use with my company e-mail. I dial-up to our Microsoft Exchange server at headquarters to send and receive company e-mail while traveling. When visiting headquarters, I use the network to transfer e-mail, but still work in the offline mode.
I can transfer my Palm data to Outlook, but do not want this data synchronized with the exchange server at my company. In other words, my company's server should never show any entries in my "calendar" or "contacts" folder.
Is there a way to set up Outlook on my PC so that specific Outlook folders will never be synchronized when I send and receive e-mail? If not, I will have to look for another PIM that can be synced with the Axim.
TIA,
CM :innocent:
