ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. I have a DELL AXIM X5 that came with Microsoft Reader. I have activated it, was able to download a few ebooks from Amazon.com. I also have Microsoft Reader on my PC. I have been able to read the books on my PC, but when I go to My Library on my Axim - while it lists the books, when i click to read it - it won't work. Gives me the following error message "Microsoft Reader is no longer able to access the book."

called the Dell support line, they told me many ebooks are not compatible with the Axim X5. Anyone have any experience with this?
Any solution?

Any place I can find books that are compatible with Dell Axim X5 version of Microsoft Reader or any place to upgrade my reader to be able to read all Ebooks?

THANKS!!!

probably the easiest way is to install the e-books onto cf or sd cards. you can do this thru activesync, or a small program called mightysync. i have 40 to 50 e-books on a cf card in my axim at all times, and i have never had a problem. also, many books are coming thru with speech enabled on them. when you first download them and ms reader opens, often the software will tell you something like "the book cannot be opened on the voice reading program. do you want to continue anyway?" always click on yes. good luck, and happy reading!

You may need to go the the MSReader web page and upgrade MSReader for PPC. The version usually shipped out is the non-updated version. Have you activated the Reader yet? If not, you can activate from the same web page.

MSReader works fine on the Axim. I have over 30 books myself on the SD card. I do like PalmReader for PPC for PPC better though and it's free also.

just as an afterthought, we had to re-register (re-activate? whatever!) our ms reader on pc AND ax by 9/29/03. if you did one and not the other, that may have caused your problems. also, when you re register, ms has a special going where you can get up to 3 free ebooks a week. you can even set your prefrences (sci-fi, mystery, etc.). i've gotten some pretty good books this way.
