I need to be able to read text files that are in excess of 12Meg. Pocket Word won't do it, and Ubook won't do it. Does anyone know of a program that will read the entire file? The failures are due to the files being too big.

"What's in there" is a file listing the calls, names and addresses of Amateur Radio Operators. I had to break it into 10 files to get it work on the Palm, 12Meg being the largest. In total, there are around 1.2 million listings in the data base. It works on Palm, but not on Pocket PC 2002, but it seems like the opposite should be true.

Have you thought about actually putting it into a database? You might not get a file size limitation then.
I'm not familiar with Pocket PC relational databases, but Palm has a bunch available. I would think the PocketPC is similar.
Just a hack: how about creating a PDF and using a PDF reader? Might work if you are desperate.

Yeah, you have some good Database options on the Pocket PC. There is the native DB that comes with it, that is analogous to Access. It is kind of sucky and has some limitations for hardcore apps, but it might work well for you.
If you want to step up a notch, or 10, you can check out Oracle Lite or SQL Server CE. Both are definitely industrial strength.

I hate to cross post, but this message is very applicable to this thread too:
I found out yesterday that SQL Server CE is FREE! That's right! As long as you don't connect to a real SQL server, the pocket version is completely free! It is definitely a great platform for developing very robust Palmtop applications.
n7fp, you should check it out as a database option for your app.
