Don't knock the Mac! :P

I am a PC only user now, but I started on a Mac. My college put a Macintosh SE computer and an Apple dot matrix printer in every dorm room. They were pretty convenient and never had any problems. We had a VAX system we had to connect to in order to do our programs for classes, PASCAL, COBOL, FORTRAN, and Assembly Language.

I got an internship, my senior year, designing a database using dBase4 that would track energy consumption in Iowa public schools. I wrote a nice front end menu system, data entry screens, and data display screens. That was my first introduction into PC's.

Mac aren't that bad! I work as a support tech that support both PC and Mac OS.

The only problem with Macs are the users They just don't know how to keep their desktop tidy.. they don;t believe in "My Documents" folder.

I've worked as a Mac & PC support person for almost 20 years now (from the Plus on upto the new bogus dual-processor G4's). We have about 30 Macs on our DTP network. In all honesty, you'll never convince me that they're "not so bad". :huh: The Mac OS is absolutely the worst! (Especially OSX). Every time a new OS is released, the users have to go out and spend a ton of money to update software to run on them. They crash at least once a day. Yeah, it's the users alright...

One of our 2 new G4's is so bad that it's sitting on the floor of my office because the user couldn't get Quark to run for longer than 10 minutes without major problems (OS10 or OS9). She got her G3 back which has a bit less problems but still freaks out for no reason sometimes. We've just begun phasing them out for Win2K systems.

P.S. These are clean OS installs too, no 3rd party cdevs or extensions.

Ever since I put my Mac in the attic, I've had 0 problems with it!
