Here is another one of my software recommendation. I've been using this software in all of my Pocket PC devices.

I think the best feature that this application have is the Advanced Close (X) Button which really close the programs; in which by itself is well worth paying $9.95. No more Start>Setting>Systems>Memory>Running Programs to close all the applications that are running. Which I think it is a short coming in the design of operating system. It is an annoying feature.

Spb Pocket Plus features:

• Close (X) button will really close programs
• Easy to use task manager as a pop-up menu on the X button
• Multiple Pocket Internet Explorer windows
• Full screen mode in Pocket Internet Explorer
• Repeating sound for appointment alarms
• Battery monitor on the Today screen
• Storage monitor on the Today screen
• Customizable program shortcuts on the Today screen
• Localized to main languages

Yes ...because if a user of Pocket PC didn't know about this, one of the symptoms will be that the device won't sync.

Hello,
I would like to have a cascading start menu without having to buy a 3rd party shareware app to get it.

I don't know what exactly annoys me, but I would like to have it operate just like XP, then there would be no learning curve.

The "X doesn't close feature" wouldn't surprise everyone. And what's wrong with start at the bottom left instead of the top left anyway. I read somewhere that they did that to keep your stylus hand out of the way of the screen, but duh...how is it out of the way at the top.

Oh well, I am not a design engineer, so I guess I don't understand those certain nuances.

Actually thats a good point Eloyd. If they wanted to keep your hand out of the way of the screen, wouldnt it make more sence to put it on the bottom right or top right? Or for that matter, leave it up to the user! *lookin out for all the lefties out there*

I had my eyes on Pocket Plus since it came out :w00t: . I am still waiting for the next release which would (should) fix some quirky things with Axim. Read this thread from PocketPC Thoughts.

I am still waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

I've contacted SoftSPB, and asked them about the problems about the software.

They responded and stated that the everything works fine with the Axim, except for the brightness adjustment feature of the software; doesn't work. The next version of the software that will be out in February will fix the issue.

I think Pocket Plus is great. It fixes some things that Microsoft should have fixed on their own. The minor issues with the Axim are no big deal. I'd recommend that people buy it now and then upgrade when the next version comes out.
