I installed active synch 3.6 and the Axim ROM upgrade at very close to the same time, and now, I cannot synch Outlook tasks anymore. I check Tasks in the Active Synch options window, and when I try to synch, it says "disabled" next to the tasks icon, and then, eventually Tasks just disappears off of the list of items that are synching.
Has anyone else seen this?
Also, Active synch is acting very strangely now. I have to manually kill the process on the PDA after each successful synch, or it never synchs again. I'm sure one of the upgrades hosed this up, but I don't know which one. Maybe I restored some old settings when I did my backup restore (after to installing the ROM upgrade).
Maybe it's time for a hard reset.

Well here iam new to the board but not new to dell. Just received my Axium and have to admit its better than I thought.
Couple of notes:
I found that during what looked like screen lock up the Axium was busy in the background so if you check off the "Disable Radio" and the light still is on wait for the light to go off. Same thought applys to Active Sync behind the scenes its busy or Dizzy dont know yet but at this point i need to open my Dell CF Card for sniffing and I dont think it can do that Any help from anyone
Thanks Randy

There might have been a file that might have conflicted with the device when you did the backup.
I remember my former co-worker when he updated the ROM for his T-Moible PPC PE, WMP caused a problem because when he restored the his backup, the previous WMP took over. The only thing that he could do was do a hard reset.

Yeah, I'd bet that's what happened.
Now, I am seeing that Task thing that other people have mentioned...where it only syncs the tasks 1 time in a session, even if you are connected to the cradle while you are working.
I'll check the other thread on that one!

I just did a hard reset after using the Dell Backup Utility. I did a restore and everything appeared great....until I did an ActiveSync.
Same symptoms for me, I had to shut down ActiveSync in order to do another Sync. Tasks were also disabled.
Only thing I could do was start over from scratch....hard reset, reinstall everything. Luckily I had saved all of my downloaded programs in a folder on my laptop so that I did not have to redownload everything. Call me paranoid about losing stuff, it paid off.
Unfortunately, the hard reset did nothing to solve my other ActiveSync problem. Making changes in my Outlook still does not update my Axim immediately, when it is connected. ActiveSync looks every hour on the hour for changes and updates my Axim.....very frustrating. I need to have the changes put on my Axim immediately. ActiveSync WILL update my Outlook immediately when I make a change in the Axim.......now with the hard reset, I am 100% convinced that it is a problem with my Outlook.
