I like to toss out a topic on wireless phones. Not necessarily wireless carriers, but options on phones.
I think a PDA phone would be really cool. I have an Axim X5 now but don't use it much. I'd use it more (options like a calendar and contacts, etc.) but I don't live by a calendar....yet. My kids aren't old enough yet. Most of the new color phones have rudimentary calendar and contacts features, right? Also, I'm really tempted to get a camera phone. That may seem like a luxury (well, it really is) but I don't know how many times I wish I had my regular digital camera on me when I'm around and about. I think the camera phones are only now approaching 1 megapixel, right?
Best case would be a phone that had both PDA and camera. I know they exist but not with Cingular (my carrier). Anyone have a camera phone? What kind of PDA features does it have? Is the camera good? How does it effect your usage minutes and airtime? What kind of memory do they have and can you sync/transfer pictures or other info to your computer like with a PDA?

Hi there,
I have an LG-XV6000 with verizon, its pretty good, being their first digital camera phone, but has many drawbacks compared to the samsung camera phones, or the let's say Nokia 3650, which i want SOOO bad. it's pictures are surprisingly of good quality, but can only hold 20 images, but it has many quality options, balances, and zoom features. the phone part works great, sounds good, plenty of coverage, but the only way to upload pics is through the internet, buy getting an online pic album with verizon, free... right now it is working for me, but i'll get something better in the future. as far as PDA functions go, i dont recomend it because I HATE typing in information with just a small phone keypad.

I had a sanyo 5300 SCP. It was OK. The camera wasnt as clear as I would have liked. I recomend staying w/a digital camera for any sort of quality. It is a cool novelty item though. I never used the calender because I need to sync up w/outlook and the ax makes it too convienient. They have decent digital cameras (CF). Maybe you could check one of those out.

I have the Sanyo 8100. I merely use the camera for simple "hellos" to my wife. Every now and then, I'll take a picture of something I want to buy and run it by her. That's how I got the "nod" to get our patio set! It worked well.

I understand all too well the "leverage" thing.
I've almost decided against the camera option. It's a luxury that I prolly don't need. I do want a PDA phone though...
One more thing on the pictures...I bet they charge you extra for the picture airtime or is it just a flat fee to be able to use the feature?

Or if you have one of their two highest plans, it's all included.

Those are BIG $$$ though, right? Like 100.00 bucks or more a month. My plan w/vision is $55 a month, but, I only get 500 anytime minuites. I mostly use my phone off-peak though. I hated it when they changed the peak hours from 7-7 to 9-9. I use my phone a lot during 7-9, it would be nice if those were off peak again. I actually heard that att (I think, it might have been cingular) changed thiers for certain customers that signed up a new account.
