Review: Pretec 802.11b CompactWLAN (CF)

I first tried this card in my Cassiopeia BE-300, and was pleasantly surprised to find a folder specifically for the pocket manager on the installation cd. Another happy bonus is that the card came with a PC Card adapter. Since then, I've used the Pretec to connect wirelessly (using an access point and ad-hoc) with three devices (my Dell Inspiron 3800 and my Axim X5 Advanced). It seems almost indestructible, as several times it has fallen along with a PDA, and it's broken the PDA's fall at least twice. One of those times was enough to crack it open, but it functions, still, despite the fact that tape is required to keep it together. I haven't bothered to do any type of speed tests; I'm just happy that it works. The bad thing about this wireless card is that it belongs to my employer; I never want to give it back. In two words: "Love it!"
