Review of the Dell TrueMobile 1180 Wireless CF Car

This card that is offered from Dell is a neat, small and effective periphial. This works fantastic with the Axim X5 with PPC 2002 and with Windows Mobile 2003. It has good range (30ft) from an access point and can offer you a wireless portability around the home or office. It does not use up much of your battery and is easy to use with the Dell Client software.

If you are going to go wireless this is the card to do it with, unless you buy the Dell X3i.

I disagree. I had this card and it failed to connect to my AP when I was less than 10 feet away through one wall. I bought a D-Link DW-660 and I get at least twice the receiption distance, possibly 3X.

i bought the Truemobile Card at the same time as my Axim...as a matter of fact i am on it right now. this is a nice wireless card but i do believe there is probably another card out there that has a better range than this one. i would say on average i can go about 25 ft. using a netgear router.

Hi, have any of you experienced problems establishing ad-hoc connections?, My 1180 works fine with access points but when used in conjunction with any wi-fi client the maximum data rate won't surpass 1.5 mbps.
