X50v + TT6

Hi,
I've seen various people on here saying that they have tomtom6 running perfectly on their x50v. I was wondering if it was a simple standard install (and tomtom have simply missed it off their compatability list) or if you had to do anything non standard (like moving voice files or something.)

Obviously tomtom themselves recommend tomtom5 for my x50v but can anyone tell me where i can buy this still? I already have an empty 1gb sd card and a working bluetooth gps reciever.

You can buy TT6 from a number of sites, here is one for TT6 US. Drifter has tested TT6 on the X50v, see his thread for details.

As Mahstah says, I use TomTom 6 on an x50 - 416 every single day without any problems or difficulties in installation. Any problems and I am happy to support you.

I think TT6 is a def for me now. Thanks all for the advice guys. I'll let you all know how it goes.

One last thing, I've heard mention that it is possible to buy TT6 as a download only, however, I can't find it on the TT site. Is this possible, and if so where should I be looking?

Drifter,
You seem tobe the font of knowledge on TT navigator problems! Just legitmately upgraded to TT6 after making TT5 work on my X51 once I had done the reg edit required to correct the conflict discussed elsewhere.
Loads TT6 on the Axim fine but it cant find the maps which are definitley on the SD card as TTHome can see them there, together with the voices. How do I get it to find the maps?

Sorry, what conflict ??

TT6 works out of the box on an x51 without any problems , the fixes are all for the x5.

I would suggest that you try again without any reg edit as I have no idea what that will have done.

Blackstar, it appears only the upgrade is available on line, sorry. But if you look at the TomTom site, it gives you a good choice of retailers such as Dixons etc.. I personally would not buy on line from TomTom as their will be a 10-14 day shipment time.. From Dixons etc , it is off the shelf.

Drifter, sorry I wasnt clear.
I had used TT5 on X3 fine for ages, X3 failed so got X51 and had problems getting TT5 to work. Eventually I got it to work after issues with the wired gps unit and also the voices. Now I have taken the standard upgrade offered by TT via download to go to Navigator 6 and seemless western european maps. To complete this you have to use TTHome process which I followed. Installed everything as requested on SD card and TT6 loaded to X51 fine but it now comes up Maps not found. But they are on the SD card (TTHome software can see them on it) and I dont know how to get the program to find them.
Can you help?
