Axim X51v Port settings on Tom Tom 5

Hello

Can anybody please help me with the correct ports I should set the two comms to on the PDA settings.

I have now purchased TT5 to go with a wired polstar mouse GPS receiver.

I would really appreciate any help.

The wired receiver may need drivers. Check the software that came with it to make sure. It may also have configuration software that installed on the Axim where you can set the comm port. Only one port needs configuration. Once it's specified you can choose the right one in TomTom's config.

If you are referring to the GPS app that is supplied on the AXIM (accessed via SETTINGS) then don't set it to anything! Make sure that the tabs are set to :

<none>, <none> and nocheckbox

It doesn't seem to work all that well - esp with TTN.

Let your application sort out the connection.

If you intend to use multiple navigation apps (as I do) then make sure you EXIT the previous app; as closing them with the top right X will NOT work in most cases as the apps tend to hold onto resources just in case you activate them again.

As you are using a serial GPS device this applies to ActiveSync and any other app that may use the serial port. If in doubt SETTINGS/MEMORY/Running Programs - Stop All
