Problems connecting bluetooth BT-GPS and TomTom

Hello.

my company has just bought me a x51 so i can have Sat Nav.

i have TomTom 5 and a RoyalTek BT GPS reciever.

problem is, TomTom doesn't show Comm 7 or 8 in the configuration list. only IR, Comm3 BT comm 5 and Serial Cable on Comm1 (i have made the registry change as described in another thread)

so basically i cannot connect my BT receiver.

i can connect to the BT GPS using its own software but TomTom will not work with it.

Any ideas?

Try pairing your X51v w/ the BT GPS again.

1. Go to:
Settings > System > GPS.
Set Program and hardware port to NONE.
Uncheck "Manage GPS automatically".

2. Next go to:
Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > COM Ports.
Create incoming port (COM8).
Create outgoing port (COM7). You might see "Your_GPS_name (COM7)".

3. Start TomTom.
Go through the setup.
In GPS setup, choose "Other Bluetooth GPS".
Set it to the same port as your outgoing port (COM7).

thanks, but i've tried all that. it wont show comm 7, just ir, 3 5 and 1.

i've managed to get it working using gpsproxy.

COM7/8 are virtual ports, it can be any combination, as long as they're different. Glad to hear it's working.
