What GPS Software Do You Use?
I have an Axim X5 with PPC 2003 and I have a holux bt gps receiver. I have been using Pocket Map Navigator but I really don't care for it much. I bought it because it gives spoken directions. Half the time it doesn't seem to know where I am, though. I don't know if it's the gps receiver that's lost or the software. I also don't care for the interface on the pc.
I'm in the USA and I have a really good software for the rural areas - Pocket Navigator - with topos.
I was using Pocket MAP Navigator for the city travel.
I found the tom tom software for $150 and something called Mobi Navigator by Arkon for $100. ( http://www.arkon.com/gpssoftware.php) Any thoughts on either of these? I travel alone alot so the voice prompts would be nice.
Thanks

I'm a true supporter of TomTom.
We have 7 running sets in the company all work very well ( 4 of them on axim x5's)
It is a logical interface and uasy to use

TomTom is the best GPS software for PPC platforms to date. I've used Pharos Ostia and Streets and Trips, and although they are good software, they lack the intuitive large button interface, good display options, and smoothly animated maps of TomTom. The maps' ultra smooth scrolling makes it stand out from the others.

I've used many products for in-car navigation, as well as topo software and hybrids. The best I've found by far is iGuidance by iNav. Flat out, the best going, although I've never used TomTom. Better than Garmin City Select, Delorme for Handhelds, Streets and Trips, etc. Voice prompts, good color contrast, moving map that's accurate and detailed, zoom, pan, auto-route/re-route, Points of Interest, street address search... the list goes on and on. I got it from semsons.com as part of a bundle with a bluetooth GPS. Separately, it's about $100.00
For Topo, I like Delorme Topo USA 5.0 and the National Geographic state series. The NG product is quirky, but has beautiful maps. The one I use all the time though is Delorme because it's easy to use, covers the entire US and produces beautiful maps.

It's better than the screen-shots! I highly recommend this product.

I tried a bunch and settled on Mapopolis for general work and Destinator for POI needs. TomTom had too many mapping errors for my preference.
Mapopolis doesn't have the fancy displays but is fast operating and accurate.

OCN5 and GPS Tuner
OCN 5 is working well for me for voice prompted navigation. I bought it after reading a number of rave reviews.
I am using GPS Tuner for geocaching. Excellent user interface, easy installation, many features for geocaching. Uses online free maps, even includes a PC app for creating calibrated maps from expedia.
Had them both about a week, have used them both every day, I have experienced no issues with either.
