X3i: Clicking noise when volume is off

I noticed that when I turn my volume to off on that little speaker icon on the today screen that there is still noise coming from the speaker. When I play jawbreaker or click on icons that normally have that "pop" sound, a clicking/static noise comes from the speaker. It is really quiet, but I can notice it if the room is quiet. Does anyone know if this is normal? It goes away if I unclick the "enable sounds for" boxes on the sound settings menu. I tried calling dell...any after being transferred 15 times, i got lady who didn't understand english very well...not very helpful....

Mine does it too, actually did it on my last PDA so I think that it's normal.

LIB!! I would never have noticed if I wasn't listening for it... but yes, when I read your post, I pulled mine right out, turned of the volume and opened up jawbreaker, and sure enough, there is an ever so soft pop from the speaker.. I think I use my stylus agressively enough I would have thought it was just the point contacting the screen.
Anyway, mine does it too, and I've had it about a month.

I have the same problem. Only I thought it was a unique problem. So i called Dell support in Denmark.
They had never heard of the problem before either.
Offcourse they suggested driver updates and hard resetting.
Finally they offered to send me a brand new axim x3.
I haven´t recieved it yet. But I can´t wait to see if i thappens on the new one too.

I wonder how many have the same problem.
Have anyone found a solution?

Questions.....questions. THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS. I have an X3i and has done it since I took it out of the package. -Along with my brother's and a couple of my buddies'

The only solution there would be is to keep the volume up one notch and you will just here the little beeps when you tap on the screen.

There actually is a way arround this annoing sound!
Turn off event notifications in the settings / sounds.

That should fix it for now.

In reference to this article above, it didn't look like you saw there is no fix available for this. Made it Red, big&bold just in case. In no means was I trying to be offensive
