I FINALLY got video's working on my Axim!

Last year when I got my Dell Axim X5 (basic edition) I thought I would only use it for calendar and contacts, basic stuff. Then I got excited about animated today screens, and THEN got really intrigued with trying to take a DVD movie (legally owned by me) and convert it to run on the PDA.

Got really discouraged about how difficult this would be, using several software packages, ripping, translating, and all kinds of esoteric terms and things to do to change and optimize the video file for the PPC.

Recently I found PocketDVD Suite which is a VERY easy 1 step program which runs on your desktop and creates an .avi file that can then run on your PDA.

And the best thing is IT WORKED! I do have to be careful about any other programs running in memory because I only have 32 meg of memory; but when I close other programs, it does work on my little PDA.

So I'm planning to make more .avi files and have them on my flash card to take with me on upcoming trips. I'll have my favorite sitcoms available any time!

Have you had any problems with the .ifo files in your cd drive? I am trying out the trail version of this product and so far they have yet convinced me to purchase this. Here is an explanation: I open Pocketdvd, click on Open DVD and an Error box comes up saying No *.ifo file in D:\

Can you give us any details on this software? Where'd you get it? Who makes it and what did it cost? Thanks!
