hey gang! when i originally bought my ax in may 2003, i wanted it mainly to read ebooks because it is much more portable than paperback or hardcover books, and the on-line ebook sites have been growing in leaps and bounds with almost as much content available as in a bookstore. also, read an ebook, save a tree! then i became disabled due to an auto accident (not mobility impaired, but i permenantly injured my neck, shoulders and upper arms). if you have never sat home all day all the time, after being active and productive my whole life, you don't know what frustration is! while i do not have it as bad as those with mobility disabilities, it's enough to make me have to leave work for good, and apply for permanent disability, and make raising my 4 kids a real challenge! (try explaining to an 11 year old why dad can't play catch with him!) as a result, i've turned to my computer and through it my ax to help relieve the boredom, and learn new ways to be productive. i'm looking into new ways to make money via the web (carefully, i might add, what with all the dishonest people out there!) my ax has become my calendar, phone book, game player, book reader, and just all around constant companion. most users use the ax for work first and play second. i use it for play exclusively, meaning i can rest as i'm supposed to, and still have things to occupy my time without having to constantly get up and use my arms. plus, "meeting" all you good people via the various web sites for the axim has enriched my life with both knowledge and finding others with similar interests. all in all, w/out my axim, and the people that "came along with it", i would have lost my mind months ago! thanks to you all for letting me into a small part of your lives, and you into a large part of mine.
