The Dell Axim has made an improvement in my lifestyle ever since I got it shortly after it made it's debut.
I'm in 8th grade and heavily involved in school. I had always wanted a PDA, but the Pocket PCs that I was looking at were all too expensive. Then, in November of last year, Dell launched it's Axim (300mHz) for only $199. I was excited, so I ordered one about a week after I found out about it. It has kept me organized and entertained ever since I made the purchase.
Now, instead of carrying around my assignment notebook and a bunch of post-it notes and paper, the Axim X5 replaces those things. I use the Tasks application to keep track of assignments, the calander/alarm applications to remind me of events before, during, and after school (Student Council meetings, Drama Club meetings, etc.), and the Notes program to take notes for a class. And even though I don't have an external/foldable keyboard for it, I do type assignments and reports using the on-screen keyboard.
All of our teachers just received notebook computers, and the school district set up a wireless network in our school. So I just beam (using infrared, because I can't afford a Wi-Fi card) my assignments/reports to the teacher's notebook, and he can check it on his notebook. On my way to school, I check the weather and news using AvantGo, and I love writing e-mails during my spare time to my friend in France. When I get home I just sync the Axim with my computer, and they're sent!
I really love this little machine, and I am still amazed at the technology that makes it so small yet powerful. I hope to get accessroies this Christmas to make it even more fun and enjoyable. What a great handheld!
