I have become one of those obsessed people we try to avoid, like those who have just quit smoking, or lost weight. Similarly, I bore my family, friends and co-workers with intricate details of my new activity, using the Dell Axim. "Look honey at the Switcher Bar, ain't it cool?" I say as she gives me one of those looks.
When an ice storm recently interrupted electric power for several days, I frantically rushed around looking for someone with a generator to re-charge the Axim. "How can I retrieve my contacts? What about Solitaire?" My kids can always panhandle for food but the PDA could not run without power. For three dark days the Axim was down. Withdraw symptoms were harsh, therefore 2 backup generators now sit in the garage.
Yesterday with my trusty Axim by my side, I was able to determine how many ounces of fertilizer was needed to feed 400 square feet of flower beds. How did the pioneers function prior to the PDA?
Anyone with kids knows a parent spends a good portion of their free time as a taxi driver. While waiting on my children to say goodbyes at their friend's house I have read the Microsoft Reader version of "War and Peace" in five minute increments in the car.
Oh yeah, at work the Axim stores contracts and maps. Blah..Blah..Blah..I love talking about the Axim but I hate talking about work.
